What to prepare

Steps

  1. Determine whether the document was lost, stolen, damaged, or needs an information change. If the entire wallet is missing, separately secure other cards through each issuer’s official channel.

  2. Prepare a declaration of loss, police report, or other applicable document under the NIA’s current requirements. Do not assume every situation uses exactly the same documents.

  3. Enter the student online system through the NIA website or ask the local service station whether online or in-person processing applies.

  4. Submit the passport, enrollment, and other information required for your current student status, then confirm the current fee, correction method, and collection arrangement.

  5. Save the official submission, payment, correction, and approval records. Submission does not mean that replacement is complete.

  6. If the old ARC is later found, do not resume using it without first following the NIA’s instructions.

Every step has its own link, so a single step can be shared.

Common mistakes, and what done looks like

Warning
  1. Problem
Waiting to handle the loss together with a future residence extension because the ARC will expire soon.
    How to fix it
Replacement and extension are separate procedures. Check the NIA’s current requirement immediately and obtain an official answer.
  2. Problem
Sending passport and residence information to an unknown agent in a social-media group.
    How to fix it
Stop sending personal data and use only the NIA website, service station, or school’s official contact.

What done looks like

You have an official submission result, understand the correction and collection arrangements, and have secured any other cards lost at the same time.
